A little “village” developed in Terralta, parish of Santo Amaro, Pico Island, Azores! A home away from home, in a lost paradise. The parish of Santo Amaro on the north coast of the island is 20 km from the main northern village and has mostly a rural population of about 300 inhabitants. Known for its hospitality and welcoming atmosphere, it attracts more and more tourists and has as main attractions natural pools, Portinho and Caisinho, and the Furada picnic area.

Over the centuries this parish was the main naval shipyard of the Azores. There is also the regional handicraft school. The view to the West allows you to see the entire bay of Santo Amaro… and allows you to see the top of the mountain of Pico, in days of little cloudiness. The grounds were chosen for their natural beauty, flora and the existence of several ruins, which give a picturesque tone to the enterprise. The enterprise is crossed longitudinally by a canada (natural rural trail) that belongs to the Listed Walking Trails of the Island. The canada will be kept untouched, with the integral preservation of the ground and walls. On the grounds there are both ruins of old houses, as well as some ruins of animal pens. The resort reconstructed, rehabilitated and built fourteen cottages, 3 one-bedroom houses, 8 two-bedroom houses and 3 three-bedroom houses, a swimming pool, a panoramic multipurpose room, a restaurant and a small grocery store in Terralta, Santo Amaro parish, São Roque municipality, Pico Island, and its adaptation to tourism in the form of tourist houses.

We aim at the conservation of nature, environmental quality and the safeguarding of the historical cultural heritage and local identity. Every Villa is equipped with photovoltaic panels and the heating is achieved thought Pellets Stoves. The cooling is done through natural ventilation. We kept the ancient water-capture tanks to be used for garden watering and drinking water is supplied from local reservoirs filtered by active coal.
